Valleyview Co-op is proud to announce the overwhelming success of its annual Fuel Good Day, held on September 17th, 2024. Thanks to the tremendous support from our loyal members and guests, this year's event exceeded expectations and raised significant funds to benefit Virden School Nutrition Programs, Melita and Pierson Early Learning Centres, and Kenton Community Enterprise.

Fuel Good Day is a much-anticipated event in which a portion of every litre of fuel sold at participating Valleyview Co-op gas bars is donated directly to local charities. This year, Valleyview Co-op partnered with local volunteers, who helped raise a total of $10,061.06 during the event.

“A Community Effort for a Greater Good”

“Fuel Good Day is a highlight of the year for Valleyview Co-op because it allows us to give back to the communities that support us,” said Energy Division Manager Sue Capern. “The generosity shown by our members is heartwarming, and we are proud to see this event's positive impact on our local organizations. We are truly blessed with a team that goes above and beyond to support their community, from our Gas Bar teams to our Food Store teams; this was a collaborative effort for the greater good.”

Valleyview Co-op extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who filled up at our pumps and participated in the event. Special thanks also go to our dedicated staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this day a resounding success. “Our community has once again demonstrated its unwavering support and commitment to helping others,” added Capern. “Events like Fuel Good Day remind us of what a caring and compassionate place we live in.”

Looking Forward

As we celebrate the success of this year’s Fuel Good Day, we are already looking ahead to next year’s event. Valleyview Co-op remains committed to being a strong community partner and fueling good in our communities.

When you fill up your tank on September 17th, 2024, at one of our Valleyview Co-op locations in Virden, Melita, Pierson, or Kenton, 10¢ per litre of fuel purchased will be donated to a local registered charity or non-profit organization. All grades of gasoline and diesel fuel are eligible.

All the proceeds from Fuel Good Day are invested in your community. This year, Fuel Good Day will support:

• Virden – Virden School Nutrition programs
• Kenton – Kenton Community Enterprise
• Pierson – Pierson Early Learning                                                            
• Melita – Melita Early Learning

If you don't need fuel on September 17th, there are many ways to donate to your local Fuel Good Day. $1.00 from every Big Cool or Co-operative Coffee purchase will be donated. You can also visit your local Valleyview Co-op C-Store in Virden or Melita, Valleyview Co-op Farm and Ranch Centre in Pierson, or Valleyview Co-op General Store in Kenton and purchase a beef-on-a-bun lunch.

Since its launch in 2017, Fuel Good Day has raised over $4.2 million to support local organizations across Western Canada.
