Valleyview Co-op members and customers once again demonstrated the power of supporting local during this year's Fuel Good Day, raising $10,783.16 for four deserving community organizations across the trading area. Proceeds from Fuel Good Day will support the Pierson Pathfinders, Kenton Kraftsmen 4-H Club, Melita Beef 4-H Club, and the Virden Pickleball Group, helping each organization continue programs and projects that strengthen local communities. During the event, Valleyview Co-op donated:

• 10 cents per litre of fuel sold and 5 cents per pound of propane sold
• $1 from every Co-operative Coffee and Big Cool sold
• Proceeds from special meal fundraisers held throughout the day

"We are incredibly proud of our teams and their enthusiasm surrounding Fuel Good Day," said Amber Vandale Torrance, Public Relations & Marketing Manager for Valleyview Co-op. "Fuel Good Day is about so much more than a single day of fundraising. It's a celebration of the communities we serve and the people who make them special. We have the privilege of hearing stories about 4-H projects, meeting the young people involved, and seeing firsthand the passion and dedication that exists in our communities. Whether it's supporting youth development through 4-H or helping create more opportunities for physical activity through organizations like the Virden Pickleball Group, we're honoured to play a small part in helping these initiatives grow."

Fuel Good Day, held on the third Tuesday in September, is an annual fundraising day in Western Canada across the Co-operative Retailing System.

Fuel Good Day 2025 was a huge success thanks to Co-op members and customers across Western Canada. With your help, we raised more than $795,000, eclipsing the previous record of $704,000. Valleyview Co-op hopes you can help make 2026 the biggest year ever and celebrate 10 years of Fuel Good Day with our communities.

On Tuesday, September 15th, Valleyview Co-op will raise funds for new Pickleball Courts in Virden, the Kenton 4-H Kraftsmen, the Pierson 4-H Pathfinders, and the Melita 4-H Beef Club. When you visit your local gas bar or farm and ranch centre, the funds raised there stay in that community. It doesn’t get more local than that!

There are several ways you can participate in Fuel Good Day fundraising (varies by location)  

• Fuel up and Co-op will donate ¢10 per litre
• Purchase a Co-operative Coffee or Big Cool®, and $1.00 is donated
• Fill up your propane tank and ¢5 per pound will be donated
• Purchase lunch, made by our team and community partners
• Connect with your local group and purchase a 50/50 ticket
