The Pierson Recreation Rejuvenation Committee is planning for a large — scale development aiming to bring new, four-season recreation opportunities to residents of the Two Borders area. Located in the current Edward Sports Grounds, the project will feature a 20 foot high toboggan hill, with varying access, as well as seating and lighting for winter evening experiences! Near the new hill, a specially designed pump track of landscaped bicycle features will provide the perfect setting for riders of all levels, helping build bicycle skills at an early age.

The project will also highlight an accessible 9 - hole mini-golf course! This course is designed for Manitoba weather and will provide another option for people of all ages and abilities to get outside and enjoy the park. The brand new development will be accentuated by a .5 km accessible walking trail, which will run the perimeter of the grounds, providing another all - season option to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family.

The project is aimed to be completed for use by the public by Spring 2023, with finishing touches including seating and landscaping taking place Summer 2023. The total project value to be fundraised is $250,000.

Valleyview Co-op presented the Pierson Creation Rejuvenation Committee with a cheque for $25,000 to sponsor the new accessible walking trail at their AGM on June 8th, 2022.  General Manager Greg Gill says the project was a perfect fit for Valleyview Co-op because it aligns so well with it's core values "Grassroots, community projects like the Recreation Rejuvenation in Pierson fit perfectly with our core value of Community. Not only that but what the Recreation Rejuvenation Committee is doing aligns with the Co-operative principles of "concern for community" and "participation". Communities across Manitoba and Western Canada are built on the hard work of community members caring for and investing in their communities."

An official sod turning at the site located behind the Edward Sports Centre will be held on June 16th, 2022.
