Why attend the Valleyview Co-op Annual General Meeting (AGM)?

Co-ops are community-based social organizations; our Members are owners. It’s an opportunity to learn more about the Co-op and participate in the Co-operative. The AGM is one of the key ways members can participate in the democracy of Valleyview Co-op. We encourage all members to attend and participate.

To help facilitate accurate voting, we ask that members and guests register for the AGM.

Is there an opportunity for a member to participate in the AGM?

Yes, the primary way members can participate is through the election process. The Board of Directors is empowered to make decisions for the Co-operative; however, certain bylaws and requirements require member approval. Each Valleyview Co-op member number has one vote.

Only three nominations were received for the three available director positions. As a result, the election is uncontested, with incumbents Marnie McCutcheon, Jonothan Hodson and Tayona Johnas standing for re-election by acclamation, subject to member approval at the Annual General Meeting.

Members holding an active Valleyview Co-op membership prior to January 31, 2026 are eligible to participate in the acclamation process at the Annual General Meeting.
